Julie/MEG TO:
What does this mean to you? Does this mean you get to sleep in on the weekend or you get to the gym early in the day. Work life balance means different things to everyone. What I think it should mean to everyone is daily achievements and enjoyment. Some times we all want to achieve more rest on a Sunday morning.
This week has been busy for me and I felt a little out of whack. Maybe it was the long days juggling work and family or the late night coffees I had.
Today, I slowed down a bit and got to bed early last night. Rest is key for balance in life. You need to sleep deeply to feel restored. I also took the time to do some core strength training this am since I missed my Monday workout. It made me feel like myself again!
Try these two moves.
Half-Seated Leg Circle
Sit on the floor with your legs fully extended leaning back on your elbows fingers cupping your hips. Keep your lower back pressed into the floor and engage your core. Life your legs 45 degrees and point your toes with your thighs together. Trace 12 large circles clockwise then 12 counterclockwise. This move is a rabid toner and burns fat too!
Stability Ball Push Ups
Need a variation on a push up try this move? Place your legs on the ball or for even more advanced move place your feet on ball as if you were on the floor and engage your core. Try two sets of 12 and pause between for 30 seconds.
